National Youth Storytelling Torchbearers’ Concert (or Youth Concert)
Three of the four Texas Torchbearers, all from San Antonio, will tell their winning stories that took them to Utah to tell in the National Youth Showcase and the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival in September. The storytellers are Cheney Davidson, 6th grade, and Sophie Holder and Ria Mehta, 5th grade, all from Saint Mary’s Hall in San Antonio. The fourth Texas Torchbearer honored at the National Showcase was Dixon Sampson. The story that Dixon won national recognition with was the same lie he told to win the Biggest Youth Liar in Texas at the 2015 George West Storyfest. All four national winners are storytelling students of Mary Ann Blue
